Joan Walkup Corrigan

Joan Corrigan grew up in San Francisco and has lived most of her life in the Bay Area where she raised a family and was involved in education.  She has had a lifelong interest in biology, studying at the University of California and University of Colorado.  After college, Ms. Corrigan founded a commercial interior design firm and has since pursued interests in real estate and landscape architecture.

Ms. Corrigan is highly engaged in the stock market, with a particular interest in the biotechnology sector which she has shared with her grandchildren.  She has a passion for reading, travel, intelligent conversation, and her dog, a rare Lagotto Romagnolo truffle hunter.

Ms. Corrigan has extensive philanthropic interests, including support for UCSF, Compassion & Choices, Meals on Wheels, John Wayne Cancer Institute, Central Park Conservancy, San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco Food Bank, Raphael House and the Buck Institute.  She has served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Strybing Arboretum and the San Francisco Hearing and Speech Society.
