Annual Fund

Gifts to the Annual Fund help support the Buck Institute’s research effort in several critical ways:

First, Annual Fund gifts provide the “venture capital” that enables Buck investigators to design experiments to test promising new ideas in the laboratory before these ideas are sufficiently developed to be eligible for Federal grant support.

Second, Annual Fund gifts are used to “match” research grants provided by private foundations, which typically only cover about half of the true cost of conducting a research project.

Third, Annual Fund gifts are used to help purchase or lease sophisticated scientific instruments, which generally are not able to be acquired with Federal grant funds.

Fourth, Annual Fund gifts are used to improve science education throughout the North Bay and to offer valuable educational programs to the community.

The bottom line, Annual Fund gifts provide the resources necessary for the Buck Institute to discover new ways to extend the healthy years of life by revealing how the natural aging process puts us at greater risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and other aging-related disorders.

Please join the Buck family today by making your charitable contribution online (coming soon) or by printing our donation form and sending it by mail. As a donor, you will receive advance notice of community seminars, recognition in our Honor Roll of Donors, and more!
