The Buck Institute for Age Research is proud to be a partner in the Marin Women's Study. The Institute will serve as the Bio-specimen repository for the Study, storing all tissue samples in two dedicated -80C freezers. In order for the study to be truly successful, up to 20,000 samples per year need to be collected, quantified, coded, fractionated, aliquoted, and ultimately distributed to specialized research centers for analysis. To help support these activities, the Buck Institute has established the Buck Institute MWS Bio-specimen Fund. Gifts to this fund support:
Sample collection components, packaging and delivery or shipping expenses associated with all samples
Sample coding, inventory of all sample fractions and aliquots, interface to all databases associated with the bio-specimen.
Institute's repository overhead expenses including bio-safety compliance and reporting.
Personnel effort and supply expenses needed for bio-specimen storage and research distribution.
Please mark the donation page that you'd like your tax deductible gift to be designated for the Marin Women's Study Bio specimen fund.
